So you want to adopt a foster/train program dog?
We are working with shelter dogs, some of which have been returned, surrendered, and many of which were on the euthanasia list. These dogs likely came to us as good candidates for the program due to needing training in some way or another and even fixing some of their “baggage” problems.
These dogs are not and will never be perfect, dogs are NOT robots. Even with training you will never change a dog's personality and many long time quirks will not dissolve. Many things can be maintained and managed but we are generally working with older dogs that have been in set ways for the majority of their lives. Basic obedience is to enhance their lives and although it does and we do work on troubling behaviors some of these behaviors will always be present despite how much training a dog has received. Dogs are not humans and shouldn't be treated as such, they are dogs. We must have adopters that understand these quirks and are willing to love them and work with them regardless.
We offer two follow up lessons for any questions, concerns or to simply just work with us on some additional training. We will not hunt you down in order to schedule your follow up lessons as we live busy lives with many dogs and clients, it is your responsibility to contact us and get your follow ups scheduled. The two free follow up sessions do expire, they are only good for 6 months after the adoption and it is your responsibility to use them.
We ask that our adopters contact us if they are needing to return the dog. Dogs cannot be rehomed or returned elsewhere as per our contract and although it is required to return the dog back to us if the dog can no longer be kept in your home, it is mandatory that you use the two follow up lessons prior to surrendering.
Prior to moving forward please read our agreement, in order to agree to these terms please fill out the agreement form located below in step four, thank you!
